Turkey II

The anticipated sequel to the entry from the director of the acclaimed 'Man Asleep In Chair'

sunny 23 °C

Well Melon Anne and Hannah had talked Turkey up and 5 weeks ago it was time to check this place out for meself (that is, Morto flying solo) and see what the fuss was about.

Some random photos to follow for your viewing pleasure

camel.JPG

I have come to the conclusion camels are up there with the finest creatures ever to have walked the planet

goats.JPG

Running wild and free on a city street, these goats were natural lawnmowers (also high on the finest creature list for mine)

kemal.JPG

The best tourist information guy ever, but not if you don't want your arse kicked in backgammon (check out the flared jeans and haircut, awesome).

kids.JPG

The look on your face when you fear for your camera's safety from some super friendly locals

nemrut.JPG

After 2 days of travel and a hellride on the bus, these stone heads near Syria were all that and then some

shoes.JPG

These slip on plastic beauties enabled me to trek a gorge in Turkey... I might have to ask the ladies to form an orderly queue again me thinks...

Anyway overall Turkey got 10/10.

Til next time

Nice pics Morto. I think the last pic with the slippers and rude shorts is right out of GQ. Looking good my friend...

Mate,
I have to agree with Dooza, and you: ladies, take a number and get in line!! Nice plastic shoes.
And the things I notices about your tourist imformation guy in order was
1-the mo
2-the hair
3-the pants
Oh, and the look is familiar, Bim droped my camera at Oktoberfest, but they are tough little suckers, those cameras.
As for me, I'm sharing a room with 7 Polish construction workers tonight, should be, um, fun? Oh well, that's Warsaw

Just when I thought tourist information guy's outfit was unsurpassable you trumped it in grand fashion with your slip on plastic shoes/board short combo. If I could get a framed copy of that photo of yourself astride camel it would take pride of place on my mantel. Keep the good stuff coming...

I wish Australian children also wore business suits.

You keep loving it Morto

true to form you've done it again morto. class mate. pure class.

I don't really know what to say about your information guy. He looks like a character out of a south park episode. Half gnome half porn star or something. Can you bring him back with you?

Did that camel fall over right after the photo was taken? Looks pretty wobbly. I nearly had an elephant back off a cliff with Janine and I on top once. Not sure about riding animals more than 6feet off the ground...

Keep the good stuff coming mate. I can't wait to here your anecdotes in person. Its going to be one hell of a session. Temps in Melbourne today: 37. Crazy hot. Make sure you bring those sweet turkish shoes and boardies back for summer.
Cheers

Terrific Morto!
I think Will is onto something there with the information guy...is he some sort of cross between Ron Jeremy and Albert Einstein?
Great to see our international correspondants getting amongst it for the Spring Carnival too fellas... Morto - Greasy Manor?
